In this tutorial video I demonstrate painting a sunset soft pastel.

Soft pastel is perfect for creating both dramatic and soft transitions in light, and those deep Terry Ludwig dark colours allow the stunning sky to contrast with the landscape in the foreground.

I’ve used a combination of soft pastels from Cretacolor, Girault, Unison and Terry Ludwig on Clairefontaine Pastelmat to create this painting.
